Menla Tibetan Medical Institute was founded in 1995 by Marsha Woolf, Director of Alternative Resources Unlimited, Inc. to support the work of renowned Tibetan physician Dr. Yeshi Dhonden (who is the former - personal physician to His Holiness The Dalai Lama 1960 - 1980), as well as to preserve the integrity of Tibetan Medicine. The first FDA approved study in the world of Tibetan herbal formulas assessing their effectiveness on stage IV breast cancer was featured on NBC's Dateline in January 2001.

Our primary goal for doing the study was to prove non-toxicity, and to establish Tibetan Medicine as a viable system worthy of further research and attention from the medical and scientific community.
