Menla Research Initiative was founded in 1998. We determined the need for an inititative that focused specifically on research and development from a more wholistic perspective. As a first project, for the past two years we have been developing a follow-up study to Menla Tibetan Medical Institute's Phase I/II study to be held in India with three leading cancer hospitals.

The study will be operated under the direction of Marsha Woolf and a team of Western medical and scientific experts. Dr. Debashish Tripathy (UCSF) and Dr. Fredi Kronenberg (Columbia); and Marsha Woolf will head the team. The study will be with 300-500 cancer patients, half of which will be breast cancer patients.
